Your spray tan will usually take 15 to 20 minutes, but we allocate 30 minutes for each client to include intake, checkout and questions.

○ 24 hours before your appointment, exfoliate with an oil-free scrub or mitt.

○ Before and after your tan, please stop using Dove & Olay products, and any soaps/ body wash that contain oils. These soaps create a barrier to your tan. 

○ Shower and shave at least 12 hours before your appointment. This gives your pores time to close to avoid discoloration. Do not shave the day of your appointment.

○ Complete all other beauty services such as manicures, pedicures, waxing, facials, and massages at least 24 hours BEFORE your spray tan. Waxing is recommended at least 48 hours or more before your tan.

○ Please be advised there is a small percentage of people whose skin may not react favorably to a spray tanning. Examples include individuals with severely dry skin, or individuals using retinols or Accutane, etc. Please discontinue these products at least 7 days before your session. We can also avoid spraying the treated areas if preferred. 

○ For women, the amount of clothing you wear is up to you. Birthday suit, bathing suit, we don’t care! Many women choose to tan topless to avoid tan lines. You may opt to bring a swimsuit, tan in your underwear, or we have disposable thongs, bras, and pasties for your convenience. Our number one priority is to make sure you’re comfortable and relaxed, so it’s completely up to you! 

○ Keep in mind any garment you wear will leave a tan line.

○ Male appointments are accepted by referral only. Males are required to wear a closed.

○ Males of any age and girls under the age of 18 are required to wear undergarments during their appointment.

○ If you choose to wear a swimsuit, a bandeau top or top without dangling strings is highly recommended.

○ Wear or bring loose fitting breathable dark clothing and loose fitting shoes (i.e. flip flops, slides). Maxi dresses, lounge wear, and pj’s are great choices. No denim, tight straps, constricting yoga pants, tight bras or underwear.

○ Please come without makeup, deodorant, or lotion on your skin.

○ If possible, remove all jewelry prior to your appointment.

Getting a spray tan while pregnant is likely safe, however, with all elective services you’ll want to take precautions and we ask that you please check with your doctor beforehand.  

Maui Glow Club utilizes a state-of-the-art filtration system in our tanning studio and offers both nose filters and face masks for use during sessions. Although nose filters and face masks are not required, they can be worn to help reduce any potential inhalation of overspray.

No, but the cosmetic bronzer may transfer onto your sheets and clothing the first day (before you rinse), so wear something dark and loose-fitting to and after your appointment. If you are concerned about your bedding, put down a flat sheet you don’t mind getting bronzer on. The bronzer typically washes out with detergent or soap.

You shouldn’t tan unless you are completely healed. If your skin is sunburned and peeling we recommend you fully heal first.

Only with parent’s signed consent.

Yes, seawater, chlorine, and hot tubs can accelerate the fading of the tan. We recommend wearing waterproof sunscreen to help repel the water.

All booking is done online and your credit card is required to hold your appointment. Adding your card to hold your appointment time is not paying for your service. Your payment is due at the time of service so please be prepared with a card at the time of your appointment. 

We ask that you please reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours before the beginning of your appointment or you may be charged a cancellation fee of $30. The card you use to hold your appointment will be charged if you no-show or cancel with less than 24 hour notice. Last minute cancellations (less than 6 hours before) will be charged the full session amount. 

We have a 10 minute grace period for appointments, as we often have appointments booked back to back. If we are unable to reschedule you for the same day, the cancellation fee would still apply.
